More Chilling Lion Shots

I wasn't going to post tonight, but the neighbor got a lot of action with his trail camera - 140 shots of the beast to be exact. Here you see our not so friendly neighborhood lion dining at around eight in the evening (we are guessing from the date and time on the camera). I have to keep a really close watch on the kids, and I choose to wear a gun anytime I'm outside. I've also changed my running routine. Now I'm driving to meet Mist on the black top about 5 miles away. I do hope this big cat will move on soon.

Hi. What fabulous shots your neighbour got! I'm so glad no-one is shooting this beast and you're just waiting for it to move on.

We do have a few wild big cats here on the moors (who escaped while there was a craze for large cats as domestic animals in the 70s) but if anyone got the chance they would be instantly shot. Indeed there are people who go out specially to seek them out and shoot them. So sad.

Great that you're not letting him stop your fitness routine!

Maybe you guys should call for help. Why not call in cops or something. 8:20 PM is not very late though! This is scary...

Have a good day and Take care!

Now that is creepy. I think I would stay in my house and construct towers of large pots and pans around my house so that if it came close they would all come crashing down and scare him away. Just an idea ;)

Whoa nelly...this is chilling and thrilling alot like a horro movie kind of thing!

Have to give you an extra thanks for the bloody graphics...this poor girl doesn't handle that gook very well...guess I'd make a lousy doctor/nurse as patients would be saying "Um, could you PLEASE open your eyes and take a look at this...braille isn't working too well here!!"

blessings and hugs,

marcy

Wow! Awesome pics! This reminds of the time I was on a horseback ride with my Brownie troop. We went through a canyon and up on the ledge was a mountain lion. A couple of the horses got spooked and took off. Those horses knew where they were going, but the girls riding them didn't and they were scared to death. Another of the horses reared up next to a cliff and scared that girl to pieces.

Anyway, your preoccupation with fear reminds me of me. I am so scared to be living in Colorado. Today as I was driving up to the house deer crossed in front of my car. Its a whole new world I am living in.

Thank you for allowing me to discover your blog! I love it! About 7 years ago I was living up near Truckee in North lake Tahoe area and I had a close encounter with a mountain lion as well. I was about 20 years old and my boyfriend and I were smoking cigarettes outside our cabin during a party. The faulty motion light went out and not 30 seconds later we hears "pounce! pounce! pounce!" and just like that it was in front of us! I'm originally from a little town back east where the biggest predator we have is a fox so I was beside myself! Luckily he was quick thinking and was able to fend off the lion with a bag full of cans that were being taking to recycling the next day until we could get into the house to safety.

This was one of the scariest experiences of my life, but ever since I have had a fascination with these lions. (Although I never went running alone through the mountain trails there again...) thanks for sharing!
