Working Mom Blues and The Terrible Woes of a Graveyard Shift Mama

Sleep, who needs sleep?! Well, at least that's what I was trying to tell myself yesterday. I got home from my first shift to my husband making eggs and hash browns (mmm....). The morning was deceptively calm. At 9am I fell asleep and by 12 noon, I awakened, never suspecting that the universe would begrudge me any more rest. Would be dream thieves included a loud locomotive earth shattering sound that turned out to be a washing machine off balance, bone chilling shrieks and cries that turned out to be Moonbeam with a wet diaper, and a live comedy tour in my living room, which turned out to be the boys fooling around. For their finale, they played "Jenga" with building blocks while singing strange hypnotic tunes (in an attempt to hypnotize the blocks from falling). My husband was out moving somebodies piano, so he didn't police the volume levels like he normally does. Eventually, I just got up and went running, which was the most peace and rest I got the rest of the day. As I write, it dawned on me that I may be slightly irritable (okay really irritable) because I don't function well on 3 hours of sleep. I seem to be fluctuating between angrily grumpy and hysterically happy. Grrr...... Te he he....... Zzzzz...... Blah.......... Grrr... Te he he.
I suppose I will blog more when I am in a better frame of mind. Happy Day after May Day!!

oh dear 3 hours sleep is never good without the noise levels you've had to cope with today,

hope the jog made you feel better

I get around 4 hours of sleep from Monday-Friday and then make up for it on the weekend. It's VERY hard to stay focus and stay level headed because of lack of sleep. Mini naps help even if it's just 20 minutes.

Hi. Oh dear! But how amazing though that you were actually able to go for a run after so little sleep. I wouldn't even be able to crawl!

That's very little sleep. Maybe, playing Jenga would have helped in some relaxation! (Kidding)
You went on a Jog? That's amazing with so little sleep.

Toodles!:)
